Atheros Ar5b95 Windows 7 64 Bit Driver Download Install Update
Did this solve your problem? Sorry this didn't help. Tell us about your experience with our site. Hello, I recently upgraded the operating system on my laptop from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. Everything has been working great except my wireless connection, which I am thinking is a driver issue. My download speeds are fine, but I keep getting bursts of upload lag.
This never happened until i upgraded to the 64 bit operating system. I have checked all of my connection settings and hardware settings, and I have made sure that there is not interference that may be causing it or other regular issues. I have Searched all over for drivers for my Atheros wireless card I am currently using the Vista 32 bit driver , but have not found one for a 64 bit system. On the HP website I was only able to find drivers for Vista 32 bit I have heard Vista 64 bit drivers would work, but the HP website links the Vista 32 bit driver for the 64 bit as well , and other sites such as the Atheros webpage don't have the drivers listed at all.
Any help finding the correct driver to use would be greatly appreciated. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I had windows vista premium 64 bit on my hp notebook with the atheros network card and i did a clean install to windows 7 home and didnt back up any of my files. Now my wireless is not working and wont even turn on.
In reply to dontlook's post on January 7, And you are connecting to a secured network? Are you sure no one else is using your network? It exhibits all the signs of being 'shared', whether it's over the network or over the broadband connection. If you are using a router, check the logs to see whether another PC has acquired access without your knowing. If you're not certain, change the wireless password. It never disconnects, it just varies in speed. It never happened until I performed a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit over Vista 32 bit.
In reply to dontlook's post on January 6, Hmm, does the connection actually drop or just vary in speed? Did it ever do the same when you were using Vista 32bit? Ok, I downloaded the Toshiba drivers, but when i ran the program it extracted the files, ran the tinstallwb. Thank you Cari, I'll try that now. The Toshiba website has Atheros drivers for 64 bit.
Let us know if it does the trick. This site in other languages x.

Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software 3. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you downloaded the driver. Windows OSes usually apply a generic driver that allows systems to recognize the wireless component. However, in order to use all available features of this hardware, you must install the appropriate drivers. Enabling the wireless card allows systems to read chipset information and manufacturer name, as well as connect to a network without using an Ethernet cable. Updating the driver version can resolve different compatibility issues, fix related errors spotted throughout the product's usage, add support for new operating systems, improve transfer speed, as well as bring various other changes. As for applying this release, the installation steps should not pose to much of a challenge since each producer intends to make the procedure as easy as possible: Bear in mind that we do not recommend you install this release on OSes other than the specified ones even though other platforms might also be suitable.
